Opposition to gay marriage is not equivalent of racism

Reasons to agree:

1. Racism is hatred of those that are different. You can't assume that those who feel that our country will be benefited by opposing gay marriage or motivated by hate. 
2. Not all people who oppose gay marriage are bad people, but all racist are bad people. 
3. Victims of racism and homophobia experience similar treatment, but from a political standpoint you can't just say that because one form of discrimination was bad, that all forms of discrimination is bad. Some forms of discrimination are good. It is good to discriminate against people who do bad things. We may disagree about what is a bad activity, but we will all agree that some activities should be discouraged... I know, I know what you want me to do... you want me to give an example of a very bad activity, and then you will scream at me and say how dare I compare being gay to doing that bad activity, and I will say, I wasn't comparing the two, I was just using an extreme example to prove my point, but no matter how much I win the logical debate, you will win the emotional debate, where it appeared that I was comparing being gay to doing this bad thing, which was not my intention. I have no problem with you being gay. I have no problem with gay marriage, really. But I want to play peace maker, and tell gay people that all supporters of DOMA are not bigots.

Obama has rolled back religious liberties

Reasons to agree:

1. Obama's Justice Department opposed religious liberties when it argued in court that defenders of traditional marriage should be regarded in law as the equivalent of racists.
2. Obama's National Labor Relations Board was wrong to issue rulings against St. Xavier University in Chicago and Manhattan College in New York, saying that they are not sufficiently Catholic to warrant religious exemptions from federal labor law.
3. Obama's Equal Employment Opportunity Commission was wrong to punish North Carolina's Belmont Abbey College for removing contraception coverage from its employee health plans.
4. Obama's Justice Department was wrong to argue before the Supreme Court for the effective gutting of the longstanding "ministerial exception" that allows religious bodies to hire and fire employees without government interference.

Obama did not keep his promise to prevent earmarks corruption

Obama, on the campaign trail, back in June 2007: Instead of allowing lobbyists to slip big corporate tax breaks into bills during the dead of night, we will make sure every single tax break and earmark is available to every American online. This builds on the “Google for Government” law I passed in Congress, which already allows you to see every contract, every grant, every dime of federal spending online. It’s time to renew a people’s politics in this country — to ensure that the hopes and concerns of average Americans speak louder in Washington than the hallway whispers of high-priced lobbyists.  Or back in March 2008: “We can no longer accept a process that doles out earmarks based on a member of Congress’ seniority, rather than the merit of the project.” Or, you know, maybe we can accept that process, at least for a little while longer. Today: Obama administration officials Sunday announced that despite expressed “concerns” with the billions in earmarks contained in the $410 billion omnibus spending bill — and campaign pledges to “slash earmarks by more than half” — the President would sign the bill. Taxpayers for Common Sense says the bill contains 8,570 earmarks at a cost of $7.7 billion. An estimated 60% of the earmarks are from Democrats, while Republicans requested the remaining 40%.
